Top 3 Construction Updates from Walt Disney World, Week of 2/5/23

Walt Disney World Resort is always under construction. No matter when you visit, a Resort, Park, or Restaurant (most likely all 3) will be under some form of construction.

So far, 2023 has been one of the busiest for WDW construction we’ve seen! Here are the top 3 construction updates from the week of 2/5/23 at Walt Disney World Resort…

3- Space Mountain: Cleaning and Spire Scaffolding

Space Mountain has been receiving a much-needed cleaning in early 2023. Gradually, the outside of the building has been power washed and incrementally returned to its pristine white color. A power washer in a lift is pictured above. 

With power washing continuing, work has also begun on the spire of Space Mountain. Scaffolding popped up on the structure yesterday. 

2- Splash Mountain Drained, Critter Houses Removed

The waterways of Splash Mountain are officially dry. The attraction’s water has been completely drained to allow construction crews access to begin work on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. 

This past week, scaffolding appeared in the mouth of the former Br’er Fox’s layer (aka, the top of the drop!). 

We also spotted scaffolding surrounding the bird and critter houses that once served as the opening scene of Splash Mountain (pictured below). 

1- Bullseye Arrives at Roundup Rodeo BBQ

The biggest and most exciting construction update from this week comes from Toy Story Land. Bullseye arrived as the marquee character of Roundup Rodeo BBQ!

Sitting to the left of the main entry, Bullseye’s arrival signals just how close we are to the opening date of Roundup Rodeo BBQ.
