Marvel Releases to Return to China With ‘Black Panther 2’ and ‘Ant-Man 3’
Did you know that Marvel films have not been released in China for over three years?
China has blocked Marvel titles from releasing in the country since 2019, which means films such as Black Widow, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder were never screened there. However, things are finally changing!
China to Release Two New Marvel Films
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania just secured release dates in China, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Black Panther 2 will release on February 7th, followed by Ant-Man 3 on February 17th.
Marvel made the announcement about these releases over its Chinese social media accounts, and these will be the first films in Marvel Phase 4 to be released in China.
The last Marvel films to be screened in China were Spider-Man: Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
Black Panther 2 was released in the U.S. in November 2022, while Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will release on February 17th in both the U.S. and China. You can watch the official trailer below!
