Raya Debuts in Magic Kingdom’s Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade
For “Raya and the Last Dragon” fans, today brought quite the debut at Magic Kingdom. The new Disney heroine made her Walt Disney World debut today in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.
When the cavalcade hit Main Street U.S.A. for the first time last fall, Disney Entertainment promised that the unique mini-parade would often rotate characters. Today was no exception.
Recently, Mirabel from the hit film “Encanto” took her place atop one of the cavalcade’s main floats. Today, Moana stepped down from the first float and joined characters walking alongside the structures.
The move made room for Raya to show the strength and determination for which she is so beloved.
Previously, the only “Raya and the Last Dragon” features in the parks focused on a sand sculpture that debuted around the movie’s release and a special, limited drawing experience focused on her sidekick Tuk Tuk at the Animation Experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Princess Elena and Princess Merida joined Raya today on the cavalcade’s first float, sharing their vivacious spirits with the crowds that gathered.
Moana’s smile beamed through the crowds as well a bit later in the grouping behind Raya’s float. She found herself surrounded by classic favorites, including Aladdin, the Genie (“Aladdin”), Baloo (“Jungle Book”), and Meeko (“Pocahontas”).
For cavalcade performance times, make sure to check the Entertainment drop-down selection on the map page of the MyDisneyExperience app. Often, Magic Kingdom shares this unique mini-parade twice a day in the afternoon, but times vary.
I thought Raya replaced Elena, when will they ever retire Elena from the parks for good, she’s unpopular with basically everyone(except those who actually watched her show), her show ended in 2020, her show barely reruns on TV anymore, and the series doesn’t trend on Disney+, there’s no reason to have Elena still ride a float, but NOT Moana(Moana’s more popular than Elena)
