Akershus Returns to EPCOT Next Month and Other Disney World Restaurant Updates
If you’re not already hungry, you sure will be after reading this! I have some super-exciting foodie news for Walt Disney World including the return of Akershus Royal Banquet Hall to EPCOT and some other returning favorites.

Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park
Before we head over to EPCOT and Akershus, let’s go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Tusker House as I am happy to announce that the all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet option will make its triumphant return starting November 1, 2022.
Once the buffet returns next month, Guests are invited to enjoy a variety of fan-favorite breakfast foods including Zebra Coffee Cake, Simba Waffles, Mickey Waffles, along with some tasty breakfast meats.

My favorite meals at Tusker House are lunch and dinner and I am so excited that the delicious buffet for them will be returning as well!
Highlights of the lunch and dinner buffet menu include Spit-Roasted Tandoori Chicken and Green Curry Shrimp. There also also some vegan options including Cauliflower Bunny Chow and salads.

There are also several options for the kids on the Tusker House buffet including corn dog nuggets and mac and cheese. Don’t forget to save room for dessert too!

While Tusker House might be going back to an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet, I am happy to report that Donald Duck and his Pals will still be staying to give hugs and autographs!
Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Another fan-favorite restaurant returning on November 1, 2022 is the Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Closed for a refurbishment over the past several months, once reopened, Kona Cafe will still offer Guests a familiar relaxed cafe vibe but with a new look and feel.
In addition to a new look, Kona Cafe will also have some new flavors on the menu with a fusion of American and Asian classics. The onstage sushi kitchen will remain!

I can also confirm that the uber-popular Tonga Toast and Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes will still be on the breakfast menu at Kona Cafe. Trust me, if you haven’t tried them, they are AMAZING!

On the lunch and dinner menu, the Big Kahuna Burger and the Seafood Pu Pu Platter will also be returning along with a new menu item, the plant-based Sauteed Red Quinoa.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT
Here ye! Here ye! I am beyond excited to confirm that Akershus Royal Banquet Hall will be reopening in EPCOT starting November 4, 2022.

Once reopened, Akershus will offer guests a family-style dining experience that includes classic Norwegian-inspired options including Traditional KjØttkaker featuring Norweigan meatballs and the Kylling og Melboller, a Norweigan take on chicken and dumplings.
For those looking to try some traditional American fare, Akershus has you covered too! Menu highlights include Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Grilled Salmon, and Mac & Cheese.

Make sure to save room for dessert including Rice Cream with strawberry sauce and a Chocolate Roulade with lingonberry cream.
But, that’s not all! I am even more ecstatic to share that Storybook Dining featuring our beloved Disney Princesses will also be returning to Akershus when it reopens next month. So, get those autograph books and cameras ready and get ready to “say cheese” with your favorite Disney Princess!

Reservations for Akershus will open starting Monday, October 24, 2022. Reservations for Tusker House and Kona Cafe are already available.
