Tim Allen, The original buzz light year, has remained relatively quiet these last few months concerning the controversy over the newest movie. This week, Tim Allen Speaks Out About Lightyear.

If you have been following along, Disney/Pixar newest movie light year comes out this year. The voice of everyone’s favorite character will now be played by Chris Evans.
Tim Allen provided the original voice of this character and the change has ignited plenty of opinions.

Allen shared during an Extra interview, “The short answer is I’ve stayed out of this ’cause it has nothing to do [with my Buzz Lightyear].”
In an article published by Yahoo! Alan further shared, “This is a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies.”
He also expressed his opinion on the idea of a “buddy film” referencing Tom Hanks! “It’s Hanks and I. There’s really no Toy Story’s Buzz without Woody.

Allen pointed out some key differences that has affected his opinion of the new movie and the new role. The biggest difference is that Allen was voicing a toy and Evans an (animated) human being.
“It’s a wonderful story,” Allen said of Lightyear. “It just doesn’t seem to have any connection to the toy, and it’s a little…I don’t know. It just has no relationship to Buzz.“
Allen also shared that many years back he was part of early discussions concerning the new film.
