Another Busy Construction Day At TRON in Magic Kingdom
MickeyBlog spent the day at Magic Kingdom where we popped by to see how TRON construction is going this week!
Monday morning was a bustle of activity in Tomorrowland.
MickeyBlog headed over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover which offers fantastic views of the TRON construction site.
Over the past week, crews have been focused on finishing up work on the concrete barriers that will separate the attraction from Tomorrowland Speedway.
The queuing area of the ride is still a work in progress as well.
As you can see, siding is till being added to the building that will house the indoor portion of the coaster.
However, the actual track has been completed for a while now and Disney has even started testing the coaster.
Below is a look at the new railroad tunnel for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
We are excited about the fact that when the railroad reopens it will travel underneath the new TRON attraction as it makes its way from Fantasyland to Main Street. .
Below you can see a look at the railroad tunnel from a slightly different angle.
The ramps leading guests to the attraction will actually go over the top of the tunnel.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce an opening date for either the TRON Coaster or reopening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
The canopies have completely changed the Tomorrowland skyline and are absolutely stunning.
The canopies light up to give guests on the light cycles the feeling that they are soaring through cyberspace.
The picture below gives you a closer look at the work being done to the external walls of the attractions.
Work is also being done to the Light & Power Co which the gift shop that is adjacent to Space Mountain.
The gift shop will share a walkway with the new TRON coaster. As a result, work is being done to the side of the building.
Light & Power Co is still open to guests.
However, as you can see from these images, some of the exits to the shop have been closed.
Inside the shop, you’ll actually find construction walls blocking off the exits where work is being carried out.
This is a project that we will continue to follow closely.
Readers are encouraged to keep following with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
