Halloween Time Returns to the Disneyland Resort for 2022!
Did you hear the spooky news?! Halloween Time and all the spooktacular fun it bring is returning to the Disneyland Resort for 2022!
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort officially kicks off on September 2, 2022 and will be offered through Halloween night, October 31, 2022.
During this special time of frights and delights, Guests will be treated to Halloween-themed attractions, photo ops with popular Disney characters and villains, exclusive treats and snacks, and so much more at various locations throughout Disneyland Park,
Let’s take a closer look at all the Halloween Happening going down at the Disneyland Resort in 2022:
Halloween Time at Disneyland Park
There are lots of Halloween happening going on at the Disneyland Park for the 2022 Halloween Time season!
Be prepared to spot some of your favorite Disney characters in all new Halloween-themed looks and be on the lookout for some iconic Disney villains!
As always, Main Street U.S.A will undergo a magical transformation featuring whimsical pumpkin displays. And, I am happy to report that the iconic, larger-than-life Mickey Mouse pumpkin will be making its triumphant return for photo ops and selfies.
Haunted Mansion Holiday will also be back this year with its seasonal transformation themed after “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Jack Skellington and his cast of characters will be spotted wrecking the halls while Guests will enjoy that nostalgic sweet smell of the mansion’s gingerbread house.
Halloween Screams is also back at Disneyland Park for Halloween Time 2022! This supernatural showcase features an exciting projection and light show every night from September 2 to October 31.
During nights on weekends, Halloween Screams adds fireworks to it’s showcase for even more chills and thrills with Guests able to enjoy the show from various locations around Disneyland Park including Main Street U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, and in front of “it’s a small world.”
Guests visiting Disneyland Park from September 2 to November 2, 2022 are also invited to check out a display in Frontierland honoring the traditions of Día de los Muertos with a musical trio of skeleton figures, vibrant flowers, and other festive decor honoring the spirit of the season.
Disney California Adventure Park Gets Spooky!
Guests will get their first taste of Halloween Time 2022 at Disney California Adventure Park when the walk under a giant Oogie Boogie from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” As you can expect, Oogie Boogie has been busy “channeling his magic to create a forever Halloween, transforming favorite attractions with eerie and ethereal details.
Radiator Springs will soon become Radiator Screams where everyone’s beloved “car-acters” will transform their homes with special fall twists.
Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz, and Red will be dressed up for Halloween Time in their best “car-stumes.”
Popular Cars Land attractions will also receive a Halloween overlay. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree with receive a spooky soundtrack to transform into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree while Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will take Guests on a wicked whirl-a-about when it becomes Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
You’ll want to head over to Avengers Campus once the sunsets for Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark! This overlay offers Guests “an exciting and spooky adventure filled with creepy creatures and thrilling drops.”
Mickey Mouse and pals will be on Buena Vista Street decked out in their old-fashioned Halloween styles while posing for photos for all of their fans.
Once the sun sets, Guests are invited over to Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vistas Street to see the facade of the iconic restaurant come alive with swarming bats, green energy pulses from within, as well as projections that will light up the tower with breathtaking moments.
There’s also one photo op you won’t want to miss while on Buena Vista Street: The 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman holding his jack-o-lantern high in the sky!
I’m also excited to announce that Plaza de la Familia will also be returning to Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure Park for Halloween Time 2022!
This immersive, limited-time celebration of family is inspired the spirit of Día de los Muertos. This event features live entertainment, exclusive foods, crafts, and much more.
Guests will be in awe when they see “A Musical Celebration of Coco” – an energetic street performance honoring Disney and Pixar’s Coco and the power of family.
There will also be a Mariachi band at the Paradise Gardens Bandstand, The World of Coco, an art installation, a photo op at Arbol de la Vida (Tree of Life), in addition to a chance to meet and greet a hand-animated figure of Miguel from Coco.

Halloween Time at Downtown Disney and Disneyland Hotels
During your Halloween Time vacation to the Disneyland Resort, make sure to plan a stop to Downtown Disney! From September 9 to October 31, 2022, Guests are invited to participate in the family-friendly Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.
And, as once can expect, all three of the Disneyland Hotels will receive some extra touches of magic with Halloween displays and much more!
