Want to WALK ON Kilimanjaro Safaris on Your Next Visit? Here’s How!
A morning at Animal Kingdom is arguably the most crowded time to visit any Park at WDW. Opening earlier than each of the other Parks, you have to get to Animal Kingdom well ahead of rope drop if you’re hoping to encounter short wait times at major attractions.
Kilimanjaro Safaris– one of the two most popular attractions in the Park- is known for garnering a very long wait, from very early in the day.
How to Walk On the Attraction
On the heels of many recent ‘research’ visits, we have a Kilimanjaro Safaris hack for you that you probably didn’t see coming. Animal Kingdom closes the earliest of all the Parks, therefore seemingly EVERYONE chooses to start their day there.
Instead of hopping from Animal Kingdom to another Park for the evening, we recommend hopping to Animal Kingdom in the early evening for a virtually no-wait ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris!
Yep, you read that right. And you’re seeing the photos correctly too! What you’re seeing is an empty Kilimanjaro Safaris queue that we breezed through in less than 3 minutes!
We visited Animal Kingdom within two hours of closing, four different times over the course of the last 12 days. Each and every time, we scanned in after 5pm (the last Kilimanjaro Safaris departed at 7:15pm on these days) and were able to WALK ON Kilimanjaro Safaris with NO WAIT! The animals are very active in the evenings too- like this male lion making the rounds just before sunset!
Each time we visited, Expedition Everest and Dinosaur also had walk-on wait times in the evenings as well. All the more reason to consider saving the Animal Kingdom attractions for the evening on your next visit!
