The Magic Outside (And Inside) Cinderella Castle
Over the years, there have been magical overlays and delicious dining options at Cinderella Castle. So, let’s focus on the magic outside (and inside) Cinderella Castle.
Birthday Celebration!
The overlay for Walt Disney World’s 25th anniversary was probably one of the most memorable. The castle was decked out as a birthday cake, complete with pink frosting, candy canes, and candles.
Indeed, Guests voiced mixed opinions due to the birthday cake overlay. For some, they were happy to see this iconic cake in person. However, others (who were on a once-in-a-lifetime trip) wished to see the traditional castle instead.
Either way, people continue to talk about this overlay. Cinderella Castle remained a birthday cake for over a year.
Stitch Crashes the Castle
Did you know Stitch crashed Cinderella Castle, but only for one day? Yep! On November 16, 2004, Stitch vandalized the castle for the opening of Stitch’s Great Escape.
Stitch threw toilet paper over the turrets and spray-painted “Stitch is King” on the walls. However, Imagineers kept this overlay for just one day due to the controversy.
A Frozen Castle Transforms for the 50th Anniversary
In addition, Cinderella Castle is often covered in Dream Lights, especially during the Christmas season. This beautiful overlay began in 2007, but you won’t see it at this time.
Currently, Cinderella Castle is the center of Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. Therefore, the castle lights up in EARidescent colors as the Beacon of Magic. Also, it pulsates immersive projections down Main Street, U.S.A. during Disney Enchantment.
Immersive Magic…For Kids!
The magic outside and inside Cinderella Castle applies to kids, as well. During typical times, kids can enter Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella Castle. Here, they are magically transformed into a Disney princess or a shining knight!
Children must have a reservation to get this royal treatment. So, be on the lookout for its return…Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is very popular!
Signature Dining
Finally, Guests can head upstairs and eat at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Again, reservations are a must, and this Signature dining location comes with a hefty price tag.
Cinderella’s Royal Table has character dining, and right now you can see Cinderella in all her beauty! However, you used to see several Disney princesses here. Hopefully, they will return soon.
Also, this is the perfect proposal location. The staff even brings a glass slipper on a bed of roses to the table as you propose. Imagine this as the fireworks are going off in the background (which you can see from the restaurant). So romantic!
Iconic for a Reason
Obviously, Guests can’t avoid Cinderella Castle as they enter the Magic Kingdom. But, you could spend quite a while exploring all its details.
In fact, I encourage you to appreciate all its beauty and magic if you have the time. The magic outside and inside Cinderella Castle is captivating, making this gorgeous structure iconic for a reason!
