Mobile Checkout Comes To Emporium at the Magic Kingdom
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that Disney World is continually updating it’s My Disney Experience app functionality to enhance the guest experience and to minimize the time you spend waiting around in lines! Since December of last year Disney has been piloting a mobile checkout program allowing you to scan items at retail outlets and pay for them without having to wait in line for a cashier!
We’ve used this service numerous times at World of Disney and are now pleased to announce that its moving to other locations-including the ultimate Disney gift shop – Emporium on Main Street U.S.A.

As you can see from the image above, guests can now select the Emporium from the drop down list of Mobile Checkout options!
The system can be accessed via the My Disney Experience mobile app. That’s why you’ll want to make sure that you have the app installed on your phone in the lead-in to your visit!
You’ll be able to select “Shop In Store” from the drop down menu and then select your location.
If you can’t find this functionality on My Disney Experience don’t worry, there is signage with QR codes at shops offering the service and cast members are usually on standby to help!
As you can see from the image above, once in store all you need to do is grab one of the designated mobile checkout shopping bags.
You can scan the item you want using your mobile phone.
When you are finishing you just tap on the check out button to pay for your purchases.
There will be a special exit allowing you to bypass the check-out lines. There are stations where you can bag your items and leave shopping bags, and hangers.
Guests must show your mobile checkout QR code to a cast member stationed at the exit so that they can quickly check your items and you’re off!
It’s that simple!
We’re glad to see this service being offered at more retail outlets around Walt Disney World Resort. Once your familiar with the system it does make shopping a breeze! So, give it a try during your next visit.
