New Mickey Statue Celebrates Anniversary Joy
Today continues to surprise guests at the Magic Kingdom as they join in celebrating the park’s incredible 50th anniversary. In a statue clearly inspired by the Fab 50 Character Collection, a new, jubliant Mickey Mouse statue now joyfully greets onlookers as they journey to Fantasyland.
Balanced on one foot with his hands thrown in the air to salute the glorious day, the statue sits to the right of Cinderella Castle in one of the many gardens that surround the iconic building.
Those searching for the new Mickey Mouse structure should venture toward the storybook land, specifically in the direction of Mad Tea Party at Magic Kingdom.
Though not part of the Fab 50 Character Collection, a gold-clad group of statues created specifically to commemorate the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary, this Mickey appears to be a replica of the compilation’s stylings.
Thanks to Mickey’s personable, downward gaze, he almost appears to greet guests too in his usual chipper way, ushering them to join him in his Magic Kingdom adventures.
Guests paused to snap photographs of the surprise art installation earlier today in a moment of peace within the park, which otherwise filled quickly with fans looking to take part in today’s special occasion.
Mickey Mouse and Friends in the Fab 50
Throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, guests can look for all of the Fab 50 Character Collection statues. Located across all four theme parks, the group celebrates a wide range of films from the Disney vault.
In the Magic Kingdom, many flocked to the Instagram-favorite Purple Wall to snap a selfie with Stitch. Others flocked to the hub, where the statues of Mickey and his pals are located alongside other classic characters.
The Fab 50 statue unofficial scavenger hunt will certainly be something to revel in during any trip to “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” Only time will tell how many surprise stautes also appear over the next few months.
