Space 220 Unexpectedly Closed Tomorrow
After just two days accepting guests with reservations, Space 220 alerted patrons with dining plans reserved tomorrow that their moment to blast into space will have to wait. The restaurant will be closed throughout the day on Wednesday.
MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa were among the first group of patrons to experience the galactic experience last week. With much anticipation, Space 220 finally opened to guests on Sept. 20th.
Tonight, however, we learned that cast members called guests directly to inform them of the disappointing news regarding tomorrow’s closure. After snagging the incredibly hard-to-get reservations for a table, cast members offered would-be space travelers alternative dining arrangements to accommodate the pause.

In its first few days, Space 220 worked on a virtual queue and walk-up only list. Beginning on Sunday, guests could make a table service reservation.
The Lounge offers a different menu from the upscale offerings of the table service menu. On a normal day, the lounge will continue to welcome walk-up guests whereas the lower dining room will mainly rely on reservations.
The closure of Space 220 comes as quite a surprise as the restaurant enjoyed such incredible success in its first days open.
Crowds continue to gather throughout the Walt Disney World Resort area in anticipation of this week’s incredible festivities. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” begins on Friday, celebrating the resort’s 50th anniversary.
After an enormous renovation over the past few years, EPCOT will officially debut its new neighborhoods to mark the occasion.
On September 15th, the park also welcomed guests to its brand-new flagship merchandise locations, Creations Shop. The enormous experience replaced Mouse Gear in the former Future World area. Club Cool also reopened with a new modern design. Stay tuned this week for news on all of the festivities, including tomorrow’s premiere of EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious.
