Expedition Everest Is Closing For Several Months in 2022
Reports started surfacing earlier this week that Expedition Everest would be closing for refurbishment at the beginning of 2022 and now it’s official.
The Disney World website now has a notification on the Expedition Everest attraction page that the Animal Kingdom coaster will be out of commission from January – April 2022.
Let’s take a look:
Though it’s not unusual for Disney to close attractions during the slower months for routine maintenance the length of closure had many fans excited that Disney World might be doing something more extensive with the ride like FINALLY fixing the giant animatronic Yeti that has famously never really worked.
Unfortunately we already heard that fixing the Yeti is not on the priority list during this shutdown and some upgrades to tech and track or more likely to be what is worked on.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog and we promise to keep you informed of any updates!
In the meantime guests who are planning and early 2021 visit to Walt Disney World should plan on Expedition Everest not be available during your visit.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog where we’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks each and every week.
