Disney World Monorail Spotted in the Nevada Desert
How is this for a rare find? A Disney World Monorail was spotted in the Nevada Desert! @ThemeParkShark posted the photos on Twitter.
After doing some digging, this monorail was part of 2 vehicles that were sold back in 2015. Part of 1 of the monorails was destroyed as a prop for a monster truck show and the other part, this one, was restored by the owner.
It looks to still be in decent shape. Although a little dusty, the control board is still intact.
The manufacturing card shows this is the Mark IV Monorail and it was manufactured in Disney World.

Disney’s Highway In the Sky is one of the most popular and fan-loved modes of transportation at the Walt Disney World resort. The Walt Disney World Monorail System has 3 separate lines that travel throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
The Resort Monorail makes the following stops:
- Magic Kingdom park
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)
Due to refurbishment work at the Great Ceremonial House, monorail service to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is temporarily suspended.
As of 2016, the system is one of the most heavily used monorail systems in the world, with over 150,000 daily riders. That’s impressive!
The Walt Disney World Monorail spans 14.7 miles (23.7 km), with around 50 million Disney guests traveling on the monorail each year.
