All Adults on Disney Cruise Line’s Magic at Sea Staycation Sailings Will be Required to Be Fully Vaccinated
As we wait for cruises to resume here in the United States, Disney Cruise Line introduced Disney Magic at Sea Staycation Sailings from the United Kingdom. These 2-, 3-, and 4-night cruises will set sail this Summer for those who are residents of the United Kingdom. Today, Disney Cruise Line has also confirmed that all adults will be required to be fully vaccinated to set sail on these cruises.
The official update regarding the requirement of fully vaccinated guests from the Disney Cruise Line Magic at Sea website states the following:
We’re implementing multiple layers of health and safety measures considering guidance from the UK government, health authorities, and medical experts. In order to sail, Guests will be required to meet health and safety requirements, including COVID-19 testing and full COVID-19 vaccination for adults 18 years of age and older.
Earlier this week, we reported that masks will also be required for Guests on these sailings from the United Kingdom.
In addition to the vaccine and mask mandate, Disney Cruise Line has several other protocols in place for the Magic at Sea Staycation sailings to ensure that all Crew Members and Guests stay safe and healthy. These include the following:
- Heightened cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Elevated technology through the Disney Cruise Line app
- Enhanced crew member training with new policies and procedures
- Communicating with Guests to give them the resources they need to do their part
Over here, stateside, we are still waiting for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to give the green light to cruises to resume from the United States. However, progress seems to have been made overnight as per the USA Today, the CDC has stated that cruises from the United States could resume as early as mid-July with 95% of passengers being fully vaccinated.
In the United States, you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after you have received your second Moderna or Pfizer shot. Since the Johnson & Johnson shot is just one jab, it’s two weeks after you receive your first one.
With news of Disney Cruise Line requiring all adults to be fully vaccinated for the Magic at Sea Staycation Sailings, it will be interesting to see if that will be the requirement for when cruises start up again domestically. With the new CDC report that just came out today, it looks like they may be required for at least a little while.
