A First Look at the New ‘Soul of Jazz’ Exhibition At EPCOT
MickeyBlog was so excited to be visiting EPCOT this afternoon where we popped by the American Adventure to check out the brand new exhibit ‘Soul of Jazz’
This awesome new offering in the World Showcase draws its inspiration from Pixar’s recent hit film ‘Soul’.
“Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” was created to teach music lovers of all ages a bit of the incredible history of Jazz in America!
The American Adventure Pavilion is now adorned with banners featuring some of the fantastic characters/musicians you’ll meet in Pixar’s latest film.
Its so nice to see this area come to life with colorful images of musicians!
Above is Dorothea, the leader of the band from The High Note that Joe so desperately wants to play with!
And here’s Joe himself, the protagonist of the film who also takes visitors to the American Adventure Pavilion on this musical jazz journey!
Be sure to have the Play Disney Parks App on your phone so that you can add an extra element of fun to your visit with the Music Trivia Challenge!
The the awesome music teacher that he is, Joe uses geography to take us through the influence that jazz has had on American culture from coast to coast!
Below you’ll see the display for New Orleans which is dubbed “The birthplace of Jazz.”
Other sections of the exhibit focus on San Juan!
The Windy City!
New York which is where the action in Soul is set.
And who can forget Los Angeles the home of Modern Jazz!
In addition to the pictorial history of jazz there are some pretty awesome items on display!
A highlight is definitely the opportunity to check out one of Louis Armstrong’s famous trumpets!
Above is a drum of jazz legend Gene Krupa!
And there’s even sheet music that belonged to Louis Bellson.
As well as Jelly Roll Morton!
And Maxwell Davis – How incredible is that!
We’ll close out our tour with a cornet belonging to the incredible Bix Beiderbecke!
As you can see from the images above, “Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” has pride of place in the gallery space.
The exhibit is nice and spread out meaning you can check out all of the displays while maintaining physical distancing.
We absolutely loved the exhibit and think it should definitely be a must-do during your Disney visit! Also, don’t forget to do your homework by checking out Soul which is available to stream on Disney+ now!
