Mulan Is Now Available to Stream at No Extra Charge For Disney+ Subscribers
If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, we’ve got some perfect news for your weekend! Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan is now available to view on the streaming network for no additional charge!
For those following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that when the film first came out earlier this year Disney was charging a premium fee of $30 for those wishing to view the film. This was on-top of the monthly Disney+ subscription fee.

For those unfamiliar, live-action Mulan is a visually stunning film that looks to more closely follow the original Chinese legend on which the 1998 film was based. So you won’t get the talking dragon Mushu or rousing musical numbers but rather a cinematic experience brimming with martial arts and mythology.
The project was originally slated to hit theaters in March but its premiere was cut short at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

As EliteDaily points out, the news that Mulan is NOW free on Disney+ came just a day after Warner Brothers announced that their entire 2021 movie line-up would be released on HBO Max on the same day that they were released in theaters. That brings with it some pretty hefty blockbusters including Dune and Suicide Squad. Best of all, these will be released at no additional cost.
As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Disney does have an investment call happening on Thursday where they are expect to reveal upcoming projects/plans for their streaming network. It will be interesting to see what impact the Warner Brothers/ HBO Max announcement has when it comes to projects like Marvel’s Black Widow.
In the meantime, if you have some time this weekend, prepare to be dazzled by Mulan. Disney’s official synopsis is as follows:
“Mulan is the epic adventure of a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to fight Northern Invaders attacking China. The eldest daughter of an honored warrior, Hua Mulan is spirited, determined, and quick on her feet. When the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in to take the place of her ailing father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors ever.”
