Popular Entertainment Will Return to Walt Disney World
Unfortunately, over the past several months, us here at MickeyBlog have reported on tens of thousands of Cast Members that have been laid off thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, several entertainment acts were cut at Walt Disney World and we are happy to report that yesterday, Chairman of Disney Parks, Products, and Experiences; Josh D’Amaro; announced at the 2020 virtual IAAPA Expo that Disney DOES intend to bring these acts back!

During the Expo, D’Amaro stated, “We’ve heard from many of our Guests that they’re looking forward to us bringing back some of the entertainment that we recently had to discontinue. And, we plan to do that.”
Performers in the following entertainment acts at Walt Disney World recently received word that they had been laid off due to the pandemic. Most of the performers impacted were Equity Actors.
- Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Finding Nemo: The Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Hollywood Studios Street Performers
- Hoop Dee Dee Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
- The Grand Floridian Orchestra at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- YeeHa Bob at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort
- And, more…

Be Our Guest – Relive the enchanting story of Belle and the Beast in the Broadway-style musical “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This live-action production showcases dramatic special effects, vivid set pieces, extravagant costumes, showstopping dance numbers and classic songs from the hit film. The 25-minute stage show is performed multiple times daily at the Theater of the Stars along Sunset Boulevard. While it is unknown at this time when Guests will begin to see their favorite entertainment options take the stage at Walt Disney World, it’s good to know that most of these acts, if not all, will be returning for all to enjoy in the future. Many of these shows are some of what I look forward to the most when I am on my Walt Disney World vacation.
In addition, while several Walt Disney World entertainment options have been suspended, there are several that are currently open including For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Singalong at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And, just last night our hopes were raised as the Magic Kingdom tested fireworks in what seems like “The First Time in Forever!”
As always, keep it here with MickeyBlog.com to be the first to know when your favorite entertainment is returning to Walt Disney World! We can’t wait until they all are back!
