Snap Speaks: Greg Grunberg on Star Wars
This was a real treat to find on StarWars.com.
Greg Grunberg, Snap Wexley himself, recently talked about his role in a galaxy far, far away.
The one thing I was self-conscious about when shooting Star Wars was that I chipped my tooth. And it didn’t happen during shooting but I tried my best not to smile wide and reveal it. But it looks like they captured on my trading card. pic.twitter.com/3mh7OdInCS

Star Wars Insider writer Jay Stobie saw a shortened version of his story in the latest magazine featured on The Mothership.
Greg Grunberg: Q&A Coming In New Star Wars Insider
Stobie asked Grunberg:
You’ve been involved in many hit films and television series, but you’ve always been especially passionate about Star Wars. What went through your mind when you learned that you’d be playing Snap Wexley?
Grunberg Answered:
I was absolutely blown away. I felt the same level of excitement that I did when I was 12 or 13, experiencing Star Wars for the first time. It was just like when you were a kid and you got to play pretend. It’s been a while, in my acting career, since I’ve really felt that level of excitement toward something that was so familiar. Usually, it’s a new role and something that I really have to think about how to approach. But this was different—I got to be a pilot in Star Wars! More importantly, I knew I’d be doing this with my best friend [director] J.J. Abrams.

The best thing about Grunberg is that he wears his heart on his orange flight suit sleeve.
Grunberg Being Grunberg (and Wexley)
And, of course, so does his character – a true original in the Star Wars universe.
Snap Wexley
Temmin “Snap” Wexley is a pilot in Blue Squadron known as the best recon flier in the Resistance’s Starfighter Corps. Snap grew up on the Outer Rim world of Akiva, the son of a rebel Y-wing pilot who flew in the Battle of Endor. His recon flight of Starkiller Base helps the Resistance come up with a plan to destroy the First Order superweapon. Star Wars Databank
And this article is no different in its timbre.
Asked about his character being an X-wing pilot, Grunberg, laughing, said, “The first thing I thought was, I hope that there’s room in that cockpit for me! I need a XXL-wing! Seriously, it was just childhood wonder; you can’t beat that feeling and nothing else compares to it.”
My favorite has got to be a few items from my wardrobe from Star Wars. I wasn’t able to take much but I got a couple little things that I can pass down to my boys.

Of course, it’s not the first time Grunberg has spoken effusively about his time on Star Wars.
