Disney Junior Vice President Leaves After 20 Years
Nancy Kanter, executive vice president of content and creativity strategy for Disney Channel Worldwide, is leaving the company after 21 years in January of 2021.
Kanter is responsible for creating Disney’s preschool channel, Disney Junior. Disney Junior hosts many popular programs like Sophia the First, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Vampirina, T.O.T.S, and Doc McStuffins. The channel’s purpose is to provide programming appropriate for pre-school age children during the morning and early afternoon. As the channel has developed, it is now offered On Demand and many shows are available through Disney+.
Kanter joined Disney in 2001. She was originally hired as vice president of programming for Playhouse Disney. In In 2012, Kanter was named executive vice president of original programming and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide. And in 2017, she was elevated to her current title with Disney Channel Worldwide.
President and Chief Creative Officer of Disney Channel Worldwise, Gary Marsh, wrote:

He goes on to say:
“I have no doubt she will continue to explore her passion for great stories in the next chapter of her impressive career,” he continued. “She’s not leaving us for many months, so we’ll have plenty of time to celebrate her before she departs.
