Could The Live-Action Aladdin Film Become Part Of A Trilogy?
Here at MickeyBlog we’ve been reporting that rumor has it that a sequel to Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin film is in the works. However, new reports are now coming in that it could be trilogy.
The film starring Will Smith in the role of the Genie was a runaway success earning over $1 billion at the global box office meaning that it does have the potential to be a lucrative franchise. Among Disney’s other upcoming live-action projects that include an ever-growing list of titles including Robin Hood, Bambi, and Pinocchio, We Got This Covered is reported that Disney has set its sights on an Aladdin trilogy.
Though Disney has not officially confirmed that 2 more Aladdin films are in the pipeline, what we do know is that Aladdin 2 is gaining momentum and that John Gatins and Andrea Berloff were hired to work on the screenplay. It has also been reported that Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith will be reprising their roles. As of going to print, Disney has yet to reveal details regarding a release date.
One thing we’ve yet to hear is whether Guy Ritchie plans to direct the other two films in the franchise. However, this is a story that we’ll be following closely so readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates!
