The memory of Andrew McMorris will live forever in the hearts of his family. He would have been 14 on his birthday, but was unfortunately killed by a drunk driver in 2018. But, this family has a special way of celebrating Andrew and even in a time when Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line are closed they plan to celebrate one of his favorite trips by making magic in their home.
Andrew’s family held a virtual graveside gathering for his loved ones in celebration of his 14 birthday. He was killed when a drunk driver hit is Boy Scout Troop as they hiked the Greenbelt Trail in New York. The driver was found guilty of all charges in December.
Andrew’s family says he loved Disney. He loved planning family vacations. So, when the parks and cruise lines closed due to the COVID-19 virus his family set out to relive all of Andrew’s favorite Disney memories.
“On March 27, our court case was supposed to conclude with the sentencing of the defendant,” his mother Alisa said. “We wanted to plan something to help us take a huge step forward and some beautiful people offered to take us on a Disney cruise to mark the next step of our journey without Andrew.” (patch.com)
She said Andrew would have been the first one to say “Let’s have fun and be silly”. So, the virtual vacation begins:
