10 Dishes Kids Will Like at This Year’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival
I’ve done many a Food and Wine Festival with little ones in tow and I can tell you first hand that shifting through the many menu items available around the World Showcase to find something pleasing to little visitors can be a bit of a daunting task.
With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of 10 items that might be tempting to tiny tummies! Now I realize that kids can be finicky eaters with a broad range of favorites but hopefully, there’s one or two on this list that will make the cut for your tiny tots!
Strawberry Cone – Shimmering Sips
I scream you scream, we all scream for this glittery cone found at Shimmering Sips (near Port of Entry.) It’s made up of strawberry soft serve and is offered up in a waffle cone with lots of sprinkles!
Chicken Dumplings – China
Dumplings have long been a hit with my little one during Food & Wine. They’re exotic enough to excite but remain familiar and tasty enough to feed Chicken-nugget lovers! You’ll find them at the China kiosk located in the China Pavilion.
Donut Holes and Smoothies – The Donut Box
We’re pretty excited about this new Food Booth offering up a delicious array of donut-themed delicacies with a few that are sure to please your little ones! Treat them to an afternoon snack of strawberry-dusted yeast donut holes or a Strawberry Smoothie made with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk® which comes with a donut hole on the straw! You’ll find the Donut Box near Test Track!
Roast Bratwurst in a Pretzel Roll – Germany
If, like me, you’ve got hotdog lovers in the family then you’ll want to treat them to their favorite dish with a twist. Head over to the Germany Pavilion for this delicious bratwurst dog that comes in a Prop & Peller® Pretzel Roll.
New Brunswick Slider – Hops & Barley
Sliders are certainly having their day and are a regular on kids menus these days! If your kids are fans then I recommend the New Brunswick being served up at the American Pavilion. It comes topped with pot roast and crispy fried onions on a potato roll. But be forewarned, it does have a horseradish cream which may pack a punch. If your kids don’t like that burny nose feeling, get one without!
Belgian Waffle – Belgium
You can’t go wrong with a Belgian Waffle heaped high with delicious toppings. During the Epcot Food & Wine Festival you can go right to the source and scoop one up from the Belgium festival kitchen located between the France and Morocco pavilion! You can choose between one topped with berry compote and whipped cream (pictured above) or with warm chocolate ganache and whipped cream!
Cheddar Soup – Canada
This dish which crops up on the Food & Wine Festival each year has become a firm favorite with my family. The Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup comes served with a Pretzel Roll and is festival comfort food at it’s best!
Carmel-Apple Popcorn – Appleseed Orchard Cider Bar
Located near Le Cellier Steakhouse, this multi-colored delicious apple and caramel flavored popcorn is sure to be a treat with little ones! Parents will also love the convenience of this non-messy snack that is easy to munch on for little ones as you meander around the World Showcase.
Bangers and Mash – Ireland
I lived in Scotland for 10 years where my daughter practically lived on this dish! The version being served up at the Ireland kitchen located in the UK pavilion will not disappoint in the comfort food stakes! It comes with Roasted Irish Sausage heaped on top of Colcannon Potatoes and served with an onion gravy. It’s the perfect mini supper!
Impossible Cottage Pie – Earth Eats
Impossible Burgers are all the rage these days and if you’ve been curious to try this plant-based product with your family here’s a dish you’re sure to love! The cottage pie comes with ground meat, carrots, mushrooms, and peas. It comes topped with white beans, mashed cauliflower, and mozzarella cheese. Give it a go during your next visit at their location in Future World West!
