2018 – A Year in Disney Merchandise
Coming down from the high that is the holiday season leaves a void in the soul as the winter months seem to stretch on endlessly and talks of warmer weather are almost painful. One way I like to fight the post-holiday, wintertime blues is with a little shopping!
2018: the chance for a new start. The New Year always brings with it lofty resolutions and dreams of change. Luckily for us, Disney has released its line of 2018 parks merchandise that will aide in ringing in this new year in style…Disney Style, that is!
Mickey Mouse Figure
With the holiday season not even a month behind us, my jeans and my wallet are a bit tighter than I remember just a few weeks ago. A simple solution would be to stop shopping (and sneaking leftover cookies), but what’s the fun in that? The first 2018 branded product worth highlighting is one that won’t break the bank. Each year, Disney releases a new Mickey Mouse figure sporting new clothes and a new design, and the price is a reasonable $7.99.
This figure stands at about 6” and is a fantastic collector’s item; I pick one up each year!
If you’re buying the figure for a youngster who loves to play, this figure is perfect. The plastic is very durable and can hold up to lots of drops and long hours of play.
Mickey Ears
You’ve got ears, say cheers! An ear hat is a must-have piece of Disney merchandise for every trip to a Disney Park. Even if you aren’t planning a vacation to a park this year, you can bring the spirit of the parks home with this 2018 ear hat.
You’re probably wondering why I’m highlighting this very common piece of Parks merchandise.
This ear hat is unlike any others, because turn it upside down, and you’ll find adorable Chip N’ Dale plushes nestled inside your brand new hat! Not only can you wear your 2018 hat, but you’ll have two new plush friends to snuggle all year long.
2018 Fantasyland Castle Charm
Pandora and Disney’s partnership continues to shine this year with the release of the 2018 Fantasyland Castle charm. This year’s design is gorgeous- with a shining blue lacquered finish on the charm, the silver “2018” really pops…the crystal studs sure don’t hurt either!
On the opposite side of the year mark, Pandora has emblazoned a 3D image of Cinderella Castle. For how small the charms are, the detail on the castle is pretty impressive. If you are a Pandora charms collector, you’ll absolutely want to pick up one of these before they’re gone.
Calling All Pin Traders
Alright Pin Traders, this one is for you! The 2018 collection offers something for collectors of every kind…including pin collectors! These are sold in a blind box set of 2 pins. Similar to Vinylmation, you won’t know what pins you got until you take them out of the box, making the thrill of the chase that much more exciting!
With the purchase of a box, you can expect to find two pins in the likeness of classic Disney characters. The designs include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy, Donald, Chip and Dale, and Tinkerbell. Which one do you hope to find in your box?
Vinylmation
Last, but not least, and my personal favorite, is the 2018 Disney Parks exclusive Vinylmation. The Vinlmation features a sketch design on the traditional Mickey Mouse mold. The ears feature the partners statue, space mountain, Cinderella Castle, and Mickey of course wears a t shirt with “2018” proudly printed on his chest.
The 2018 Vinylmation is an Eachez, meaning you have a 9/10 chance at picking a common figure, and a 1/10 chance at the variant. Will you be picking up any of this merchandise to help ring in the new year?
