Themed Rooms for Every Family at Walt Disney World
Your son loves adventures. He spends his summer mornings drawing up an elaborate plan for the day ahead. Just when you think it isn’t possible, the detail and depth to his imagination surprises you more as the days pass, and you marvel at how long he can spend outside on such hot afternoons without coming inside to cool off.
He can turn the backyard into a dense rainforest that holds hidden treasure, and when he finally captures the golden coins from the hands of a wicked, rabidly cursed seadog (read: your family’s shiatzu) your porch swing serves as his chosen vessel that will carry him and his newfound treasure back to the seas where he most belongs.
Sound like your son/daughter? If so, there isn’t any worry that their imagination needs stoking, and since you’re planning for an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, you’re bringing them to the right place! Kids are amazing, and the way they can immerse themselves into a made-up story that exists only in their minds is the stuff that inspired Walt Disney himself to build Disneyland!
With an imagination as vivid as your child’s’, why not let them live out their fantasies during your entire stay at Walt Disney World by choosing one of the Resort’s immaculately themed rooms built for nonstop adventure and ceaseless exploration…find out which one is right for your family!
Caribbean Beach
Since the intro was dedicated to all of the pirate fans out there, I can’t think of a better place to start than at Caribbean Beach! This island-themed Resort lets you step into the swashbuckling world brought to life in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.
With a sand castle-themed pool, an open mercantile-esque dining area, and hammocks galore, young and old pirates alike will feel right at home when you choose to stay here. Pirate-themed guest rooms are all the rage at this resort, and everything from the color scheme to the mast-shaped headboard will ignite their imaginations from sun up to bedtime!
Art of Animation
Pirates are super cool, though if your son or daughter’s imaginations and play dates don’t usually entail a trip to the Caribbean, the Art of Animation is your go-to! You can stay in a room themed to: The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Fining Nemo, or Cars…but the fun really begins after you’ve chosen your section and you’ve arrived at the Resort!
Upon entry, your immersion into the world of Disney animation is undeniable, and for aspiring artists, this is definitely the place to be! No matter which section you choose to stay in, you, as a guest of the resort, have access to three different pools and are free to walk about all of the other highly themed sections during your stay!
A very close family friend recently took their family of 5 to Walt Disney World Resort, and being that their oldest son is the biggest The Lion King fan I’ve ever met, I suggested they consider staying at Art of Animation. They took my advice, and returned home with a report that it was the best decision they could have made!
Since they are a larger family, one guest room would normally not have been spacious enough for them, but since they did their research (aka asked me) they knew that the beds in the standard guest rooms fold up to create a day space large enough for afternoon play and nighttime bonding
Princess fans really luck out with hotel choices at Walt Disney World because they have the option to be picky! The Little Mermaid section of Art of Animation is perfect for Princesses whose royal entourages enjoy a bubbly, happy, and whimsical take on their royal duties. If the Princess in your party is more, shall we say, refined, the Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Resort has the proper accommodations fit for your cultured royal’s repose.
The regal rooms’ designs draw inspiration from Princess and the Frog, and the lavish décor allows them to live out their royal dreams even when they’re not fast asleep. The elaborate gold piping along the walls and furniture draws the eye around the room before settling on the dark and regal color scheme that sets a castle-like mood. The soft yellow lighting creates an almost candlelight vibe, and the heavy curtains that separate the sinks from the main sleeping area succeed in making a traditional ‘hotel room’ anything but ordinary!
Is your daughter obsessed with princesses, or does she have a need for speed like Lighting McQueen? Is your son’s heart set on a pirate room? We want to know which themed room your family will choose, so let us know by leaving a comment below!
