BREAKING: Skyliner to Resume Service
The official Walt Disney World home page has posted an update on the Disney Skyliner:

Beginning today, Guests may travel aboard Disney Skyliner from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. However, system updates later this week will result in the following modified operating hours for Oct. 16-18:
- Oct. 16: The Disney Hollywood Studios line will be closed while the other two lines will be available from 1 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
- Oct. 17-18: All lines will be open from 1 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Previously, the Skyliner transportation system had been shut down due to an incident earlier in the month.
As late as yesterday evening, USAToday.com reported:
Walt Disney World’s Skyliner system is back up and running without passengers as the park begins retesting the new aerial cable car system before reopening to guests, according to local reports.
While Disney World’s official website still lists the Disney Skyliner as “temporarily closed,” local ABC and Fox affiliates report that the air gondolas have been running since Tuesday morning without passengers, as Disney reviews the malfunction that stranded passengers for hours on Oct. 5 when one of the cable cars became stuck in the air.
But the site now reads:
