VIDEO: Disney Shares A Moving Message Of Solidarity Created By Cast Members
Since the passing of George Floyd over Memorial Day Weekend Disney has been sending messages of solidarity for Black Cast Members and in support of Black Lives Matter.
Today, Disney posted a very moving message created by Walt Disney World colleagues to show their support and commitment to the cause. We here at MickeyBlog want to simply let this post speak for itself:
The caption accompanying Disney’s post says, “Several of our colleagues created this powerful and very personal video to share with their fellow employees, highlighting the need for greater understanding, unity and action to address racial inequality in our country. We believe Black lives matter and that this message is one that everyone should hear. That’s why we’re sharing it with you.”
Disney has been vocal in its support of the Black Lives Matter Movement. Earlier this month they shared this powerful message:

Days later they also announced that they would be making a donation of $5 million to support nonprofit organizations that advance social justice. This included a $2 million donation to the NAACP to further their work promoting social justice.
In an official statement released by The Walt Disney Company, they said,
“The killing of George Floyd has forced our nation to once again confront the long history of injustice that black people in America have suffered, and it is critical that we stand together, speak out and do everything in our power to ensure that acts of racism and violence are never tolerated,” said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “This $5 million pledge will continue to support the efforts of nonprofit organizations such as the NAACP that have worked tirelessly to ensure equality and justice.”
As we previously reported last week, Disney also stood behind Star Wars actor John Boyega who gave an incredibly moving speech last week during a protest in London. The following post appeared across Star Wars and Lucasfilm social media accounts:
We also reported this week the touching story of how someone wrote a Black Lives Matter statement on Lucasfilm’s iconic Yoda statue in San Francisco which drew the attention of Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill:
