Actor and Comedian Jerry Stiller Passes Away at the Age of 92
It is with a heavy heart that we here at MickeyBlog pass on the news that actor and comedian Jerry Stiller (father of Ben Stiller) has passed away of natural causes. He was 92.
In a tweet that went out this morning, comedian Ben Stiller had the following to say about his dad, “He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

Jerry Stiller had a long-tenured career in Hollywood, He is particularly known for his roles as Frank Costanza in Seinfeld and Arthur Spooner in The King of Queens. He also regularly appeared in his son’s projects including the Zoolander films.
When it comes to his roles for Disney, Stiller is probably best known for voicing Harvey in Planes: Fire & Rescue with his wife Anne Meara cast in the role of Winnie. Other projects included Pretty Boy in Teacher’s Pet, Principal Stickler in Fish Hooks, Caucasian Eagle in Hercules (series) and Uncle Max in The Lion King 1 1/2. His other accomplishments as an actor are numerous. He appeared on Broadway in Terrence McNally’s frantic farce “The Ritz” in 1975 and David Rabe’s dark drama “Hurlyburly” in 1984. Off-Broadway, he was in “The Threepenny Opera”; in Central Park, he played Shakespearean clowns for Joseph Papp; films include Divine’s husband in John Waters’s “Hairspray” (1988).
His career launched on the Ed Sullivan show when along with his wife and comedic partner Anne Meara the duo formed a familiar presence in nightclubs, on television variety and talk shows, and in radio and television commercials, most memorably for Blue Nun wine and Amalgamated Bank.
