The Disney Fantasy Makes Its Inaugural Call at Pointe Seraphine on Saint Lucia
The Disney Fantasy made its inaugural trip to Pointe Seraphine Port in Castries on the island of Saint Lucia today, bringing with it a ship full of passengers and crew members.
According to Loop Saint Lucia News, officials from Global Ports Holding (GPH), Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority (SLASPA), the Ministry of Tourism, Invest Saint Lucia, Platinum Port Agency, Cox and Company, and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority gathered to greet the Disney Cruise Line ship.
Reflecting on the inaugural call, Disney Fantasy’s Captain Damir shared his excitement.
“It is great to bring this vessel to Saint Lucia, and it is also my first time to the island. It is an amazing experience,” he said.
Saint Lucia’s Booming Tourism Business
Saint Lucia officials held up the arrival of the Disney Fantasy as evidence of the island’s growing tourism appeal.
“The arrival of Disney Fantasy signifies a growing interest in Saint Lucia as a premier cruise destination. This not only enhances our tourism offerings but also brings substantial economic benefits to our local communities,” Rondel Charles, Public Relations Officer at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, said.
At St. Lucia, Disney Cruise Line passengers can shop at Point Seraphine, explore the National Rain Forest, enjoy Jalousie Beach, and visit Sulphur Springs — the only drive-in volcano in the world!
The 130,000-ton Disney Fantasy was originally launched in 2012 as the sister ship of Disney Dream. The ship embarks on 7-nigh Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages.
