‘Inside Out 2’ Opens in New International Markets and Continues to Dominate
Inside Out 2 opened in multiple international markets on Wednesday and again earned its blockbuster status.
Yesterday, Pixar’s latest animated film opened in Italy, France, Spain, and Belgium and managed to rack in another $29 million at the international box office. That raised its offshore total to $203.3 million across 42 markets. In total, the film has now grossed $438.7 million.
‘Inside Out 2’
According to Deadline, in Italy, Inside Out 2 had the biggest opening day ever for an animated film, with 4.2. million. That number was also the biggest opening day post-COVID and Disney’s fourth-best showing ever.
Inside Out 2 also dominated the box office in France, where it brought home $4 million. That number was good for Pixar’s 3rd biggest opening ever and was 171% ahead of Inside Out.
In Spain, like Italy, the Kelsey Mann-directed film had the best opening ever for an animated title. Grossing $3.3 million, Inside Out 2 also had the best opening since COVID.
Finally, in Belgium, the film had the best opening day ever for Pixar and the 3rd best day for a Disney animated film.
The Film Looks Unstoppable
While the individual market debuts are interesting, they all tell the same story — Inside Out 2 is a bonafide blockbuster. By the end of the week, the film will also have opened in Brazil and China and will have crossed the $500 million mark.
After a rough couple of years for Pixar, Inside Out 2 looks to be a true return to form for the studio.
With the film dominating the new markets that it opens internationally and continuing to pile up numbers at the domestic box office, happy days are here again for Pixar.
