Disney World Begins Rolling Out New Credit Card Readers
To improve the guest experience, Walt Disney World began rolling out new credit card readers last week.
The updated devices are designed to make guest transactions faster and more secure.
The biggest change for guests is that the new readers have a tap-to-pay touchpoint along the top of the device. This allows guests to use their MagicBands, phones, or tap-enabled cards to complete their transactions.
The new devices are much better at recognizing MagicBands, making paying with the Disney World accessories much easier. I don’t know about you, but I was a disaster at paying with my MagicBand. While it sometimes worked perfectly, other times I was contorting my arm in all sorts of directions to try and get the reader to work.
Additionally, guests can tap their credit cards much quicker than before.
Smaller and More Secure
The other big difference between the new and old devices is their size. The new readers are much smaller and sleeker.
Finally, the new devices also feature a front-facing camera. This is another security feature that should make guests feel at ease.
What Do You Think?
So, what do you think about the new credit card readers at Walt Disney World? Have you tried the new devices yet? Let us know below!
I for one, am thrilled that the new readers are better at detecting MagicBands.
