This Day in Disney History- July 23

July 23rd was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the release of a true-life adventure, the opening of a Disneyland attraction, and the end of the line for an original Pleasure Island club. So, let’s get started!
Sleigh Bells Released (1928)
On this day in 1928, the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon Sleigh Bells was released.
The short was considered missing until 2015 when it was re-discovered and restored.
Prowlers of the Everglades Released (1953)
On this day in 1953, the Disney True-Life Adventure film Prowlers of the Everglades was released.

The film followed the lies of animals such as raccoons, snake-birds and alligators living int he Everglades.
The Junior Autopia Opens (1956)
On this day in 1956, Disneyland’s Junior Autopia opened.

Kingdom of Dreams and Magic- Tokyo Disneyland Opens (1983)
On this day in 1983, Kingdom of Dreams and Magic- Tokyo Disneyland was released.

On this day in 1999, Inspector Gadget was released.

Loosely based on the animated cartoon series, the film starred Matthew Broderick as the bumbling but well meaning inspector.
Tarzan and Jane Released (2002)
On this day in 2002, Disney’s Tarzan and Jane was released.

A sequel to the 1999 animated film Tarzan, the new film was made up of three un-aired episodes of the animated television series The Legend of Tarzan.
The Comedy Warehouse Is Torn Down (2013)
Finally, on this day in 2013, the Comedy Warehouse was torn down.

The club was demolished as part of the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs. The Comedy Warehouse had opened with the rest of Pleasure Island in 1989.
