Kevin Feige Speaks on that ‘Venom 2’ Post-Credit Scene
Back when the film was first released, we wrote about one specific scene that could have major implications to the Marvel Sony relationship, and the future of Spider-Man, we have now heard from the man himself, as Kevin Feige speaks on that Venom 2 post-credit scene.
The incredible success of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was a good mark for Sony’s continued development of the character, and its journey of bringing more of the studio’s own Marvel characters to the forefront.
The film was a sequel to Venom, and is one in a long line of Marvel-related films that Sony is seeking to create; along with the delayed Morbius, and the revealed Kraven The Hunter.
We discussed the post-credit scene that saw the film introduce Venom into the context of the MCU; which added to fans’ confusion after a character that seemed to be Michael Keaton’s Vulture appeared in the Morbius trailer.
Well, we now have inside info from the man himself as Kevin Feige speaks on that Venom 2 post-credit scene and the nature of the collaboration between Sony and Marvel in order to make it happen.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the Eternals premiere, Feige stated, “There was a lot of coordination- and if you don’t know all the coordination yet, I’m not going to be the one to tell you- but yes, between Sony and Marvel and the Venom team and the No Way Home team… We worked together on it.”
Feige continued, “I don’t want to talk about rumors of speculation on what could happen or couldn’t happen as it relates to characters Marvel Studios hasn’t brought to the screen yet, but I will say what I’ve always said having been at Marvel Studios for 20 years, I wouldn’t dismiss anything.”
Feige concluded with a statement to peak many fans’ interest who heard it, “Any rumor you read online could happen anything between tomorrow and never.”
These statements verify that Feige and Marvel did indeed work together on the scene and that Venom’s interaction with Tom Holland is all but confirmed for sometime in the near future.
We aren’t sure how, or when, or why exactly; but Spider-Man going head to head with Venom seems to be destiny at this point, as the characters are so iconic as hero and villain.
