Mandalorian Fan Film, Il Mandalorian, Updated
Il Mandaloriano brings the Spaghetti-Western to space….
We’ve mentioned this short “fan film” of The Mandalorian before; however, in short, “Il Mandalorian” is a Spaghetti Western-style take on a trailer for The Mandalorian.
Produced by a director, writer, actor, and editor named Lance Krall, the clip has over 1.3-million views on Youtube.
Originally posted in 2019, it’s still amazing, and now it’s updated.
Revisiting Il Mandalorian
A year after his original post (see below), Krall posted about the critiques he received:

Now that the amazing first season of “The Mandalorian” is complete, I decided to go back and update my Sergio Leone inspired trailer. Thanks for all the feedback on the last one. I incorporated a lot of your Italian grammar suggestions after Google Translate was… er, less than accurate the first time around, but I’m sure I butchered more Italian in this pass as well! Scusa in anticipo! (That was translated from Google as well. Ha.)
That said, the trailer translates well from space fantasy to Italian Western.
Just check out one of the trailers on which “Il Mandalorian” was based:
Meanwhile, Jon Favreau, one of the showrunners of The Mandalorian, seems to think the style worked just fine:

Now watch “Il Mandaloriano”:
I mean, how cool was that!
However, the above trailer isn’t the only genre-bending trailer for The Mandalorian out there.
Last week, CBR.com’s Ben Wasserman posted about a Cowboy-Bebop inspired anime-style Mando trailer.
He wrote:
Opening with Bebop’s iconic quartered screen splits, Malec reinvents various scenes from the Disney+ show with a more dynamic flair, such as Mando and the Child/Baby Yoda flying around in the Razor Crest, meeting Cara Dune and Kuil reprogramming IG-11.
BTW: The below video, like lots of anime, is decidedly PG-13.
Here’s hoping that The Mandalorian, like its progenitor Star Wars, continues to inspire creators!
