Another Senior Executive Has Left The Walt Disney Company
In what is becoming an increasingly common refrain, another senior executive is leaving The Walt Disney Company.
Lisa Valentino, executive vice president of category sales in client solutions at Disney Advertising Sales, is exiting Disney for the second time.

Valentino had previously been in charge of several of the unit’s digital initiatives, including new ad tech presented to clients. Her role was frequently described as “broad” and gave the advertising executive certain freedoms.
“Most people in my position are either heavily weighted into data and technology or heavily weighted into content and creative,” she told Computer Weekly earlier this year. “My teams sit in this unique spot where we straddle both.”
Valentino’s Exit Was the Result of Re-Alignment
According to Variety, Valentino left Disney after the company announced a re-alignment of the advertising sales staff.

“Any employee impacted by a reorganization that has access to confidential information would be required to exit,” Disney Advertising said in a statement provided to Variety.

At this time, it is not clear how Disney Advertising Sales has been reorganized or if any other departures are expected.
An Interesting Time For Change
Interestingly, Valentino’s exit and the Disney restructuring come amid the company’s upfront discussions with advertisers.

The upfront season traditionally lasts from May through mid-summer as TV networks hock their commercial inventory for the next season of programming.
It Was Valentino’s Second Stint at Disney
Valentino originally worked as a senior ad-sales executive at ESPN before leaving the company to work as chief revenue officer at Conde Nast and eventually executive vice president at Univision.
