The exhibit is being brought to life in conjunction with “Disney’s enduring admiration for those who serve in the US Armed Forces and veterans” and “President Bush’s personal commitment and the ongoing work of the Bush Institute’s Veterans and Military Families program.”
The exhibit will feature over 60 oil paintings and artwork of service members and veterans alike that the former President Bush has come to know personally since the tragic events of 9/11.
“Celebrating those who give so much to our country has been part of the fabric of The Walt Disney Company throughout our 100-year history,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chariman, Disney Experiences. “We’re grateful to the Bush Institute for allowing us to feature this special collection and share it with our guests.”

Honoring Our Military Through Art
In addition to the artwork, Guests visiting the Portrait of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors will be able to learn more about the stories of valor and resilience behind the faces of our service members along with how they continue to make contributions to our country after leaving the military.
“We are thrilled Portraits of Courage will be on display for EPCOT visitors to experience this year,” said Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. “My hope is that those who have the opportunity to see this special exhibit will also remember the leadership, service, and sacrifice behind each of the heroes painted and the unique challenges our service members and their families face when transitioning out of the military.”

Care Packages for Deployed Service Members
In addition to the exhibit and celebrating National Military Appreciation Month, Disney Consumer Products and the Disney SALUTE veterans employee resource group will host Disney VoluntEARS sessions in Glendale, California, and Orlando, Florida.
During these sessions, 4,000 care packages will be assembled for deployed service members as part of the USO Care Package Program. The goal is to assemble and send out 16,000 care packages by the end of the month, which has been put together since the start of the year.

Department of Defense Warrior Games
But, that’s not all! Disney World will also be celebrating National Military Appreciation Month with even more events that will eventually lead up to the Department of Defense Warrior Games, which will be held at the Resort from June 21 to 30, 2024.
