Marvel Honors Chadwick Boseman With a Helicarrier
Since Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing last year, there have been no shortage of touching tributes. And now we have another heartfelt way that Marvel is giving a tip of the hat to the one and only Black Panther. This can be found in Jason Aaron’s lastest issue in the Avengers series. Avengers #41 returns our focus to Black Panther including a new Wakandan helicarrier in the Marvel Universe that has been named after Boseman.

While its only a tiny reference, its still really moving to see an image in this comic honoring that late actor who did so much good both on and off the screen. Though it could be a one off tribute, Jason Arron said that he hopes it won’t be the last time that Helicarrier Boseman crops up in the comics.
As ScreenRant tells us, other notable tributes includes a mural at Disneyland’s downtown shopping district (se above.) The Disney+ version of 2018’s Black Panther film starring Boseman features a new opening with exclusive shots and clips of Boseman. ABC (which is also owned by Disney) has created a video tribute for Boseman which can be viewed on Disney+
Marvel’s September issues in 2020 carried special covers, similar to their past tribute to the passing of Stan Lee that featured images of Boseman by artist Brian Stelfreeze with a letter from Ta-Nehisi Coates commemorating Boseman’s life. Chadwick Boseman’s life and impact will be remembered for years to come and as ScreenRant points out its nice to see Marvel Comics recognizing that fact in a variety of ways for fans to appreciate and enjoy.
