Disney World and Disneyland Resorts are busy places, and I’m not just talking about the crowds — projects are almost always being worked on around the parks and resorts.

So, we’ve compiled a list of all the things in Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort that are under refurbishment! This is constantly being updated, so everything is up to date.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland is closed from now until sometime in 2026. Disney says it will “reopen with a little bit of new magic.” We can’t wait to see what it is!

Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland is closed from now until the summer of 2025 for refurbishment. In the meantime, you can have a somewhat similar experience on Dumbo the Flying Elephant or The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be receiving some big updates next year! There will be a new show scene, updated ride vehicles, and gameplay enhancements.

There is currently no date for these updates, we just know they’ll be happening sometime in 2026.
Hall of Presidents
The Hall of Presidents will be temporarily closed starting January 20th and is expected to reopen sometime later in 2025.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
The indoor children’s playground in the queue for Dumbo will close for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025 and will reopen sometime in the spring of 2025. The ride will remain open during this refurbishment!
Animal Kingdom
It’s Tough to be a Bug!
It’s Tough to be a Bug! officially closed on March 17th, 2025 to make way for a new show that will open in the winter of 2025.

The new show will be called Zootopia: Better Zoogether! and is themed to Disney’s Zootopia.
DINOSAUR
DINOSAUR will be open for all of 2025, but will be closing sometime in 2026 to be re-themed into an Indiana Jones attraction.

The rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. that remains open right now will also be shutting down to be re-themed into the Tropical Americas land!
TriceraTop Spin
TriceraTop Spin is officially closed forever in DinoLand U.S.A. to make way for the new Tropical Americas land taking over the area. R.I.P.

The rest of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama! is also closed, which includes Fossil Fun Games midway activities and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures store.
EPCOT
Test Track
Test Track in World Discovery is undergoing a MAJOR refurbishment to become the third version of the ride. It will draw inspiration from World of Motion and celebrate humanity’s “enduring drive” towards a brighter tomorrow.

Work continues on the ride and we should see it open in late summer of 2025.
Also note that since Test Track is closed, Test Track SIMporium is also closed during this time and should reopen when the ride does.
Hollywood Studios
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has been permanently closed on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios. Disney is currently working on turning the area into a new Disney Villains-themed stage show that will open in 2025 called Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After.

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is currently undergoing refurbishment and will reopen in the summer of 2025 as The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. There will be all-new physical sets, a new musical number, a new cast of puppets, new live performers, and stunning new visuals.

Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is open right now while Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment.
However, starting May 21st, 2025, both Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be open throughout the summer!
Winter Summerland
Both courses at Winter Summerland Miniature Golf near Blizzard Beach will be undergoing refurbishment from April 28th to June 16th, 2025. During this time, you will be unable to reserve tee times, but one course will remain open so you can visit without a reservation.

Disney World Resort Hotel Refurbishments
Deluxe & Deluxe Villa Resorts
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention center, from April through November 2025.
You may see and hear construction during daytime hours, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. All pools and most resort dining and other amenities will remain available. Guests should allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Construction is currently happening at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort through 2026. The resort is preparing for the proposed expansion of the resort and select portions of the already existing parts of the hotel are undergoing refurbishment.
You might hear and see construction work happening during the daytime hours and the ongoing work could affect your views of Magic Kingdom and surrounding areas from the resort. But, noisy activities will begin no earlier than 9AM each day.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower
Room refurbishments are happening in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort from now until September of 2025. Guests will see and hear construction work throughout the tower during this time and should allow extra time for getting around the resort (alternate paths may be utilized).

Also, from January 26th, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower will be temporarily closed for maintenance. But, the Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be open for guests to enjoy.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins
Exterior refurbishment work is currently happening at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. You might see and hear construction during daytime hours.
Also, from May 12th through May 21st, 2025, Whispering Canyon Café will be closed for refurbishment at Wilderness Lodge.
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
Starting in January of 2025, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are undergoing refurbishments. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, but most hotel amenities will remain available.
From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. You may hear or see construction work during daytime hours.
The Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools are all still open.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
The water taxi to Disney Springs at Disney’s Old Key West Resort is currently unavailable as the dock is being worked on and should come back sometime in April of this year. Instead, guests will need to use the bus system.
Moderate Resorts
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside
From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will be undergoing refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work in the area during daytime hours.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter
From now through Spring of 2025, some guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter are undergoing refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, but most hotel amenities remain available.
Value Resorts
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. But, guests can still enjoy the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at the resort.
All-Star Sports guests are also welcome to enjoy the other pools at the All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will be undergoing refurbishment. All resort amenities will remain available, but guests might notice construction during daytime hours.
Refurbishment work is also happening at the Everything POP Food Court from now through April 2025. The full food menu and all seating will remain available, but guests might see or hear construction work in the area.
Other Disney World Resorts
Four Seasons Resort Orlando
Residential development is currently happening adjacent to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. Daytime noise might be heard on the Golden Oak side of the resort from Monday through Friday (approximately 8AM to 5PM).

There should be no disruption to the resort’s pool and recreation facilities, restaurants, or event spaces. Outdoor areas of the spa might be inaccessible on select days, but full spa service remains available.
Golden Oak View rooms and Four Seasons rooms may be affected.

Carnation Cafe is closed right now through May 9th for a short refurbishment.
The Disney Gallery
The Disney Gallery on Main Street, U.S.A. is currently closed for refurbishment.
The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is closed for refurbishment right now as Disney works on a new show that will open later this year. The new show will be based on the life of Walt Disney and called “Walt Disney – A Magical Life.”

Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow
Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow, located in Fantasyland, is currently closed for refurbishment.

Disneyland Resort Hotel Refurbishments
Disneyland Hotel
The E-Ticket Club in the Adventure Tower is currently undergoing refurbishment. During this time, a temporary Concierge lounge is located on the lobby level of the Frontier Tower for all Club-Level Guests.

Pixar Place Hotel
Since February 3rd, 2025, the Pixar Place Hotel pool deck is closed for refurbishment. Instead, guests can use the pools at the Disneyland Hotel and still enjoy the Pixar Place Hotel pool deck for viewing fireworks on select nights.
