Oogie Boogie Bash

Oogie Boogie Bash is an annual Halloween party that takes place in Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort on select nights in August, September, and October.

This is a separately ticketed event that happens once the park is closed to regular guests. Since it is limited capacity, there are usually much shorter wait times for all of the rides!

It also has a bunch of exclusive entertainment, food, characters, and more. Let’s get into it!

Your ticket includes admission into DCA as early as 3PM on your event night! The party runs from 6PM to 11PM, which means you get three extra hours to enjoy the park before the party begins.

You also receive unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the party. Just scan the QR code on your event wristband in the Disneyland app to access the gallery. (You can download them from your account up until 45 days after the event.)

Tickets will go on sale in 2026 — we’ll keep you updated on the exact date they’ll become available!

Costume Tips and Dress Code

Everyone is allowed to wear a costume to Oogie Boogie Bash, but there is still a dress code! You can check it out right here in the “Dressing for Special Events” section.

Map & Checking In

To check into the event, you will need to visit one of the check-in locations in the park. Closer to party time, this just happens when you enter the park at the front gate.

Last year, since we were already inside DCA, we went to the in-park check-in location between Cars Land and Avengers Campus.

When you check in, you will get a map that is also an event guide for Oogie Boogie Bash. This has everything you need to know about the party inside. 

It’s got all of the details about the food, entertainment, merchandise, and more at the party.

You will also get a trick-or-treat bag…

…and a wristband for the event! The wristbands last year included a QR code that took you to the PhotoPass gallery in the Disneyland app, since you get unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the party.

Treat Trails, Characters, & More

There are various treat trails throughout the park where you can go trick-or-treating! On these trails, you may also run into some of your favorite Disney characters.

The candy you will get includes things like M&M’s, Skittles, Snickers, and more! If you are looking for allergy-friendly and no-sugar-added options, just ask a Cast Member.

As for the characters, some of them are pretty rare, or they’re some of the regular characters in their Halloween costumes! Last year, we saw Mickey and Donald…

…and Syndrome!

And, make sure you keep an eye out for the Halloween decor all around the park! The Red Car Trolley comes to life at night with special, spooky lighting…

…and Radiator Springs is completely decked out!

Entertainment

Frightfully Fun Parade

One of the exclusive entertainment options is the Frightfully Fun Parade! Last year, the parade ran at 7:45PM and 10PM on event nights, but exact showtimes can vary, so make sure to check your event guide.

Jack Skellington got an upgrade in the parade last year, and he’s super fun to watch!

If you really want to prioritize this parade, you can book the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party for an additional fee. It comes with preferred seating for the parade, along with treats, beverages, and a pin.

Villains Grove

Make sure to check out Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail during the party! You can walk through scenescapes featuring the Disney Villains, and it’s full of lights, sounds, and your favorite villains.

This is a must-do if you’re looking for those spooky Halloween vibes!

Food & Drinks

Oogie Boogie Bash has a bunch of exclusive food and drinks! You can see the full list of what was available last year right here to get an idea of what to expect. We’ll let you know when the 2026 foodie guide for the party is released!

Last year, we tried out the party-exclusive Carolina Loaded Tenders from Flo’s V8 Cafe! They were chicken tenders tossed in a Carolina BBQ sauce, pickle ranch, and diced pickles, served with shoestring fries.

Also expect to see some food-related souvenirs, like The Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor Sipper from last year. These are usually available at multiple locations!

Merchandise

You can find a bunch of event-exclusive merchandise during Oogie Boogie Bash! Last year, we found it at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs.
