Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Resort Category: Deluxe & Deluxe Villa
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of the original resorts that opened in 1971 alongside Magic Kingdom at Disney World. This is a mid-century modern-themed resort featuring an iconic building structure that the monorails actually run through. Let’s break down everything this resort has to offer!
Location
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is located right next to Magic Kingdom on the Seven Seas Lagoon! It’s so close to Magic Kingdom that there is actually a short walkway you can take directly to the park from the Contemporary.

You can also easily reach Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort by using the Resort Monorail route the Contemporary is located along.
Theming
The Contemporary Resort has theming from legendary Disney Imagineer Mary Blair! The main building is in an A-frame style and there is a 90-foot colorful mural from Blair in the middle of it.

The mural celebrates the Grand Canyon and American Southwest and features the iconic 5-legged goat amongst its geometric designs!
The design of this hotel is very mid-century modern and features sleek silhouettes and colorful patterns that feel like stepping back into time while remaining modern.

A big selling point of this resort is the Monorail that runs right through the inside of the main building.

Rooms
There are a large variety of rooms at the Contemporary Resort! First, understand that there are 3 different buildings — the Main Tower, the Garden Wing, and Bay Lake Tower (which is a Disney Vacation Club property).

Standard Room
Note that the rooms at the Contemporary also have that mid-century modern theming and many of them are even themed to Pixar’s The Incredibles!
Standard rooms in the Main Tower have either theme park or water views. They sleep up to 5 people.

The Garden Wing standard rooms sleep 3-5 adults and have resort or water views and deluxe rooms (which are bigger) are also an option.

Then, there are the Club Level rooms. These have access to concierge service at either the Atrium Club or Tower Club, along with complimentary health club access, personalized front desk and guest services, and secured key access to the club-level lounge, serving refreshments 7AM to 10PM daily.
There are a whole host of different room sizes and styles at the Club Level. They sleep anywhere from 2 to 10 adults and have different views available.
