The special events at Disneyland Resort are very popular and for a good reason! They’re full of exciting and exclusive offerings, from entertainment to food to characters.

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite

What is Sweethearts’ Nite?

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite is a separately ticketed event that takes place after hours in Disneyland Park and is themed to Disney Sweethearts — think of it as a Valentine’s Day theme! There are a bunch of special entertainment offerings, rare characters, exclusive food and drinks, shorter wait times for rides, and more.

Event Details

The event takes place in Disneyland Park on January 21st, 23rd, 28th, and February 4th, 6th, 9th, 11th, and 13th of 2025. It happens from 9PM to 1AM.

Guests going to the event were able to get into Disneyland Park starting at 6PM. And, if you had a park reservation, you could check in and get your credentials as early at 4PM near the Galaxy’s Edge entrance closest to Fantasyland.

Ticket Prices

Tickets start at $149 per person and are currently sold out. Here’s what the ticket prices looked like for reference:

January 21st, 2025 – $149
January 23rd, 2025 – $159
January 28th, 2025 – $149
February 4th, 2025 – $149
February 6th, 2025 – $159
February 9th, 2025 – $179
February 11th, 2025 – $179

Tickets include admission to Disneyland Park as early as 6PM, 3 hours before the party officially begins. If you have a ticket, you also don’t need to worry about making a theme park reservation to get into the park.

Also note that parking fees aren’t included with your ticket and Lightning Lane Multi Pass is not available during the event.

Dress Code

Disney invites you to “dress in your magical best” and take some cues from your favorite Disney duos! But, there are specific costume guidelines for special events at Disneyland Resort.

Here’s a look at the rules and regulations:

All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground (e.g., full-length Princess dresses)

For Guests Ages 13 and Under

Costumes and some masks may be worn, as long the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible.

For Guests Ages 14 and Older

Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable.
Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic Lightsabers, toy swords and tutus.
Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
Masks of any kind may not be worn, except for medical purposes.

Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, the event, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.

Sweet Keepsakes

At the event, you will get a commemorative credential with a lanyard and wristband as well as a guide map (limited to one per ticketed person). Your wristband features a QR code for unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos taken during the party (more on that later!).

Sweethearts’ Nite

There was also a Magic Key-exclusive button set that could be picked up on the pathway that leads to Galaxy’s Edge near Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.

Atmosphere

There were all kinds of fun projections happening throughout the park during the event!

There were heart projections happening on “it’s a small world” even though it’s currently closed for refurbishments!

It got pretty funky!

We also saw some fun hearts projected onto the Matterhorn.

And, check out Main Street, U.S.A.!

There’s a lot of love to go around here.

There weren’t any fireworks this year at this event, though.

Music and Entertainment

There is a bunch of special music and entertainment that happens throughout the event!

Sweethearts’ Cavalcade

Your favorite Disney couples will appear on a sweet-themed float along the parade route surrounded by dancers to kick off the party! This happens twice during the night and begins in Town Square, then heads to Sleeping Beauty Castle and returns to Town Square.

…and Mulan and Li Shang.

The cavalcade took place at 9:30PM and 11:30PM.

Royal Ball

First up, you can check out the Royal Ball at Fantasyland Theater. This is a musical ball where guests can dance to beautiful music and features a cast that includes ballroom dancers and some of your favorite Disney royal couples!

Characters we saw on stage included Belle and Beast…

…Tiana and Naveen…

…and Jasmine and Aladdin.

The Royal Ball took place at 9PM, 10PM, 11PM, and 12AM.

“Our Love Is Out of This World” Dance Party

Stitch and Angel host a dance party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Stage during the event! There’s a DJ that’s spinning some otherworldly tunes for everyone to dance to throughout the night.

Lou-Ray Jazz Club

The Mark Twain Riverboat is transformed into a floating “under the stars” nightclub during Sweethearts’ Nite! There is an awesome jazz quartet playing as the Riverboat sails around the Rivers of America. This happens at 9PM, 10PM, 11PM, and 12AM.

Mariachi Band

If you want to hear some traditional Mexican ranchera music, you can catch it at this event! It’s played by a lively ensemble of musicians over in Zocalo Park.

Miss Lily’s Revue

Check out the romantic piano tunes at The Golden Horseshoe when Miss Lily stops by seeking a valentine! This happens at 9:15PM, 10:15PM, 11:15PM, and 12:15PM.

Jazz Piano Player

There is also a cool jazz player over at Tiana’s Palace at 9:15PM, 10:15PM, 11:15PM, and 12:15PM.

Characters

Some of the characters you might see at Sweethearts’ Nite include Donald Duck and Daisy Duck! Donald was sporting his red sweater covered in hearts with a matching hat.

And, Daisy was matching with him!

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse were all decked out in red and pink! We saw all of them over in Town Square.

Louis greeted guests by the Mark Twain Riverboat in Frontierland…

…and Constance Hatchaway was near the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square looking for a new husband (yikes!).

Winnie the Pooh was wearing his special Valentine’s Day scarf in Bayou Country!

Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood were over in Adventureland.

Price: $45 per adult; $25 per child (prices exclude park admission, tax and gratuity)
Reservation Times for Meal Pick-Up: 8PM to 11PM
Cancellation Policy: You must cancel at least one day in advance of your reservation to avoid a $10-per-person charge, which also applies to no-shows.
Seating: Dine at any available table at Plaza Inn. Each Guest in the party must purchase the prix-fixe meal in order to dine at Plaza Inn.
