World of Disney Celebrates 30 Years at Disney Springs
Just one day after Walt Disney World celebrated its 55th anniversary, the resort is commemorating another major milestone.
As crazy as it sounds, it has officially been 30 years since World of Disney opened at the then-Disney Village Marketplace.

The 50,000-square-foot shop is not only the largest Disney merchandise store in the world, but it has also become the premier shopping location in Disney World, even as the Village Marketplace has transformed into Downtown Disney and then Disney Springs.
30 Years of Magic at World of Disney
Disney Springs took to Instagram this afternoon to celebrate three decades of magic at World of Disney.

Today, in particular, was a day to honor the Heritage Cast Members who have served guests since 1996.

“Cheers to three decades of magic! ✨ Congratulations to the World of Disney team on celebrating their 30th anniversary, especially our Heritage Cast Members who have been making magic for countless Guests at World of Disney since it opened in 1996,” Disney Springs wrote.
Joe Schott Celebrates the Big Anniversary
Walt Disney World President Joe Schott also took to social media today to celebrate World of Disney’s big milestone.

“For 30 years, World of Disney has been a place where Guests can take home a piece of Disney magic,” he wrote.
“During my visit last month, I had the opportunity to meet some of the Cast Members who make that magic possible every day. Congratulations on this milestone anniversary and thank you to the team that continues to make World of Disney a must-visit destination at Disney Springs.”

Needless to say, World of Disney has a lot to celebrate today.
It is great to see the men and women who have been making magic for decades get a moment to shine.
