As a rule, September has evolved into the slowest month on the annual tourism calendar. Even though fans adore the Halloween and autumn decorations, the fundamentals apply.
With school in session, families are less likely to travel to the parks.

Yes, Disneyland Resort caters more to locals than Walt Disney World. Even so, getting to the parks simply isn’t as easy to get to the parks, even if they’re nearby.
Schools place demands on parents, as they shuttle their kids to class and after-hours activities.
For this reason, attendance drops at the parks…but here’s the thing. When we tracked August attendance, the wait times were already quite low.
As such, we may have reached a point of diminishing returns at Disneyland.

Overall, the crowds ticked up slightly with an average wait time of 22 minutes per attraction.
That’s two minutes or ten percent more than last time, a fractional amount.
Mad Tea Party
With the crowds this small, you won’t notice any difference while standing in line for most attractions.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin are the only two exceptions, really.
Disney California Adventure Wait Times
At Disney California Adventure, the holidays have a larger impact. The holiday overlays have proven quite popular, which lures more guests to the park.
In particular, the Monsters After Dark overlay is wildly popular.

Overall, guests stood in line for an average of 27 minutes per attraction. That’s a slight uptick of one minute per attraction, primarily driven by the overlays.
If not for them, the park’s average wait times would have dropped in September.
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort
So, the holiday decorations are definitely doing their job in drawing a crowd. You’ll definitely want to catch them before October ends, and they’re gone!
