How Imagineering Made the New Soarin’ Across America Destination Posters at Disney California Adventure
Few attractions across the Disney Parks can effectively replicate the feeling of immersion and pure wonder elicited by Soarin’.

Regardless of the iteration of the attraction you’re on, there’s just something about (manufactured) wind hitting your face as your feet dangle over significant landmarks that screams Disney. The attraction also features Patrick Warburton, so it’s an automatic win in my book.
The Mouse debuted a new version of the ride this year in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary: Soarin’ Across America. The new film flew into EPCOT on May 26 and Disney California Adventure on July 2 as one of the tentpole offerings of Disney’s summer-long patriotic celebration.

The new experience takes guests over destinations like the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and much more!
And with the new film came new attraction posters, specifically at the Disney California Adventure iteration of the ride. Imagineering recently showcased the poster design process on its Instagram.

The post shows each step of the design process, from conceptualization to production.
These posters can be seen while exiting the Disney California Adventure version of the ride. Interestingly, despite coming to fruition as a result of Soarin’ Across America’s installation, these posters showcase destinations from around the world.

Several American settings are featured, as are international locations such as Germany’s Bavarian Forest and Ireland’s Killarney. According to the post, Imagineering “chose locations that weren’t so familiar” to “open people up to traveling to new places.”
The post features some early sketches, digital illustrations, and the final products!

In an age when generative AI is seemingly inescapable as you scroll your social media feeds, it’s nice to see human creativity showcased.
