Walt Disney World Wait Times for Second Week of September 2026
The “slow” season has officially started at Walt Disney World.
Of course, Disney doesn’t really host anything resembling an offseason these days.

The company structured its pricing to encourage more guests to visit during the “slow” periods.
Still, September has typically remained a calm month to visit due to the lack of crowds.

Did that trend continue last week? At the risk of spoiling the details, no.
Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the second week of September 2026.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tree of Life
So, last weekend was theoretically the three-day Labor Day holiday.
Lately, Disney tourists have modified their vacation approach, though.

What they tend to do instead is arrive at the parks on or around the holiday.
Then, they stay longer during that week since the first day is “free” as a national holiday.

You can really tell that this behavior occurred last week, especially at Animal Kingdom.
Here are the park’s average wait times for the week of/after Labor Day:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 46 minutes, up 15
- Na’vi River Journey – 36 minutes, up 11
- Adventurers Outpost – 32 minutes, up 9
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 26 minutes, up 6
- Bluey’s Wild World – 23 minutes, up 5
- Kali River Rapids – 23 minutes, up 7
- Expedition Everest – 21 minutes, up 5

So, every attraction except the Zootopia show increased its average wait.
Overall, Animal Kingdom guests stood in line for an average of 28 minutes per attraction.

That’s eight minutes more than last time, which will be the largest increase this week.
Animal Kingdom feels the impact of larger crowds more than the other parks.

Disney
Even so, this park’s behavior reflects the general trend last week.
More people visited Disney World the weekdays after Labor than the ones before it.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Animation Courtyard
The Magic of Disney Animation has soft opened at Hollywood Studios.
Technically, this new experience debuts on Monday, but guests are already visiting the area.

This fact has altered the crowds a bit this weekend. It’s not super-impactful, though.
We’re only talking about three of the seven days, so this will matter more next week.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Anyway, here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 58 minutes, down 28

That’s a hefty six minutes or 20 percent more than last time.
EPCOT

2026 Food & Wine Festival
At EPCOT, the song remains the same. We all know the traffic driver here.
Fans are showing up for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
Disney is still adding new stuff each week, which is sustaining demand.
I’m not going out on a limb to say that Food & Wine is EPCOT’s signature festival.

Overall, the attractions of Walt Disney World increased their average waits by four minutes.
So, guests definitely picked the days after Labor Day to hang out at the parks.
