The Magic of Disney Animation Soft Opened Today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
If you have been following along with MickeyBlog this week, you know there’s exciting news coming out of Disney Hollywood Studios.

The Magic of Disney Animation opens next week, and MickeyBlog was lucky to get a media preview! You can check out our experience here.
Today, the attraction has soft opened a few days before the official opening date of September 14.

Guests were excited to find that The Magic of Disney Animation was open to guests this morning!

The Magic of DIsney Animation is a new collection of animation-related experiences where guests can enjoy Drawn to Wonderland, Off the Page!, Olaf Draws!, Once Upon a Studio Theater, and more.
Guests lined up early to check out the new experience!
A new feature of The Magic of Disney Animation is select roaming characters just outside the building, in the Walt Disney Studios Lot.
Guests can expect to see three different characters in the courtyard, including Pluto…
… Jiminy Cricket…
…and the White Rabbit. From what we observed, the characters alternated, appearing for about 30 minutes each.
Of course, inside the building, you can meet more characters at Off the Page!
A variety of characters are located in areas inspired by the various stages of animation:
- Mulan: Story
- Rapunzel: Layout
- Chip n’ Dale: Hand-Drawn Animation
- Donald and Daisy: Computer Animation
- Goofy: Lighting
- Stitch: Effects

This is a great place to meet your favorite characters, take special photos in front of themed backdrops, and learn about various aspects of Disney movie magic.
