Disney Removes Mention of 2027 Opening Window From Tropical Americas Description
Walt Disney Imagineering was quite generous with information regarding the Tropical Americas land currently under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Imagineers Chris Beatty and Michael Hundgen revealed the names of all three of the land’s attractions: Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos.

The two also announced that Harrison Ford himself will appear as Indy in the attraction that bears his namesake, making the fourth Disney Parks Indiana Jones-themed ride the first to feature the iconic actor.
Conspicuously absent from the presentation was any mention of the setting’s opening date. Disney announced a 2027 opening window when it first revealed plans for the land back in 2024, but Imagineering did not reference any particular year during August’s expo.

Instead, Hundgen simply said, “I can tell you that we are thrilled with the construction of the Tropical Americas land. It’s really starting to take shape.”
Fans were unsure whether Disney simply felt it unnecessary to reiterate a previously announced window or if the silence signaled a shift in opening range. A recent alteration to the official Walt Disney World website unfortunately lends credence to the latter.
Disney Removes Mention of Tropical Americas Opening Window

Disney has removed any reference to 2027 from the land’s description in the “Coming to the Parks” section of the Disney World website. This subsection is located on the Walt Disney World Resort Event Calendar page.
The description previously said guests could “journey to an 11-acre, immersive land in 2027.” It now reads:
Prepare for your journey to an 11-acre land. This village of hope will feature new attractions like the joyful Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto and action-packed Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent—plus a handcrafted El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring wooden animal figures inspired by Disney and Pixar films.

Compare this to the official description for Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which lists 2027 as its opening year.
This is by no means official confirmation that Tropical Americas will not open next year. Until Disney definitively communicates that this is the case, there’s still a shot the land will open in 2027.

However, this is now the second time that the company has deliberately omitted any reference to the year—or an opening window, in general—from a Tropical Americas description.
It’s possible that this is simply an oversight or error. For what it’s worth, Tropical Americas’ construction appears to be moving at a pretty rapid pace.
