Disney announced last month that a new interactive experience would be coming soon to the PhotoPass Studio in Disney Springs, and it just recently opened! So come along with us to check it out.
New Interactive PhotoPass Studio Experience
Over in the Marketplace at Disney Springs is the Disney PhotoPass Studio. Here, you can pose for some special photos in front of fun backdrops!

Disney has just replaced the old virtual studio with a new interactive experience, so we went on over to see it for ourselves.

The new experience is completely blocked off from the waiting area, so you can’t see anything until you get inside, making it more immersive.

In the waiting area, you will see a video on the walls telling you what you can expect. Then, you’ll be taken into the Collector’s workshop.

The Collector has been gathering things from all over the Disney universe and has found a magical doorway and story medallions that can transport you to different worlds!

His workshop is filled with items like old cameras, photos from the parks, and trinkets he’s collected. You might even spot an old PhotoPass costume vest in the corner!

Once you’re ready, the PhotoPass photographer will ask you to choose between two storylines — Frozen or Toy Story. Once you choose, you will be given a magical medallion to use for your journey.

We went with Toy Story! You then place the story medallion into the magical storybook to begin. The book will light up…

…and the whole scene will change around you!

For the Toy Story journey, Lenny the Binoculars will run out to kick things off.

He will bring you into Andy’s room, and then you’ll start taking pics in front of the backdrop!

Here’s another look at the little guy…

…and one of the photos we got!

Then, some familiar characters will pop into the windows, including Woody…

…and Buzz…

…and the scene will change to Bonnie’s room!

You will get to take pics in front of this backdrop as well! Make sure to look out for some characters running by — we spotted Forky!

Here’s a look at one of our other photos!

There are a bunch of cool lighting and sound effects throughout this entire experience, which makes it even more immersive.

Then, more toys will come out…

…and you’ll be taken back to the workshop where you started. Scan to get your photos, and you’re good to go!

We posed for some Magic Shots during the process, but it was a surprise what they would be! When we finally saw them, we had pictures with Woody and Buzz…

…and Jessie and Bullseye!

Overall, this is a very cool new experience that would be great for the whole family! It’s very interactive — similar to Enchanted Tales with Belle over in Magic Kingdom.

This is also free to do, and you don’t have to have a PhotoPass Memory Maker to check it out. You would have to pay to download or print the photos, but you can go do the experience completely free of charge!
Don’t forget to take pics in the seasonal backdrop studio when you’re done in this one! Right now, it’s Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch.

It’s also a really fun way to experience some Disney magic without a park ticket, since it’s in Disney Springs. We highly recommend visiting to check it out yourself!

Stay tuned for more Disney World news and updates!
