Disney+ Strikes Deal With French Broadcaster Groupe M6

Disney+ is a global brand and home to some of the biggest shows on streaming. However, the service has made a concerted effort of late to tailor the service to individual local markets.

While fans around the world flock to Disney’s streaming service to watch series such as The Mandalorian, Loki, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, they have also increasingly turned to Disney+ for local content.

To help make Disney+ a premier destination for streaming users, Disney has continued to partner with local studios.

This investment in local content began under Bob Iger and has continued under Josh D’Amaro.

Now, the streamer has announced another partnership.

“M6 has created shows that audiences in France really love, and we’re excited to bring some of those favourites to Disney+,” said Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA. “With their strong appeal among younger viewers, it’s a natural fit and means even more local shows for our customers to enjoy. We’re really pleased to take this next step with M6, and to keep working with broadcasters across Europe to bring their shows to new audiences.”

The new deal also includes a seven-day preview window for programs before they debut on linear television.
