CONFIRMED: Shipping Policy Has NOT Changed for Majority of Disney World Guests
Recent internet discourse has suggested that Walt Disney World Resort has implemented sweeping changes to its merchandise shipping policy.
Initially speculated to be a resort-wide restructuring, we can confirm that the new system only impacts a few resorts.
Clarification on Walt Disney World Merchandise Shipping Policy
The price to ship merchandise to your home from a park or Disney Springs has long been based on the value of your purchased items. Cost is as follows:
- $19.99 for items valued between $0 and $100
- $34.99 for items valued between $100.01 and $250
- $74.99 for items valued between $250.01 and $500
- $99 for items valued at $500.01 and up
International shipping is between $30 and $150, increasing by $10 for each additional $50.
There’s been recent speculation that Disney has outsourced its merchandise shipping operation to RICOH USA, the American subsidiary of the multinational imaging and electronics company.
A Cast Member has confirmed to MickeyBlog that this is the case for select shipments at eight different Walt Disney World hotels, but it’s not a resort-wide change. The longstanding merchandise shipping policy is still in place at the parks and Disney Springs.
RICOH USA has taken over select shipping services at the following resorts:
- Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Walt Disney World Swan
- Walt Disney World Dolphin

Under the new RICOH system, guests choose from five different bag sizes that range in price from $19.97 to $49.97. Your selected bag determines your shipping cost.
A Cast Member told us this service only applies to the resorts that offer convention services, presumably as a result of the number of businesses/meetings they host.
Not a Resort-Wide Change

Again, it’s been confirmed to us that this is not currently a resort-wide policy. The price to ship items to your home from the parks or Disney Springs is still determined by the value of your purchased items.
This means you’ll still need to show a valid Walt Disney World receipt in order to ship your items.
You can request that your merchandise be shipped to your home when checking out at a store inside a park.
You can ship items from Disney Springs at the Guest Shipping Station, which is located in the back of Marketplace Co-Op.
